Nathan Ritz, Director of Talent Development / Workforce Inclusion, Youth Leadership Imitative Program Director, Greater Des Moines Partnership

Nathan Ritz is the Director of Talent Development/Workforce Inclusion, Youth Leadership Imitative Program Director for the Greater Des Moines Partnership and has been with the company for 2 years. Within the role, he guides the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Diversity Council. The Diversity Council is compiled of members from the Greater Des Moines business community who are dedicated to creating inclusive corporate cultures and growing varied customer bases. The council acts as a catalyst to mobilize the business community toward a broad economic development vision that incorporates all people as valued contributors and valuable customers. In his Workforce Development Role, he is a part of the Employers Council of Iowa Board, assisting with the development of an educational series of webinars and classroom events that target specific workforce needs that are identified on an annual basis.

Ritz also travels to major colleges and universities in the Midwest, attending career fairs to advertise employment opportunities for the Partnership’s approximate 4,700 business partners, while promoting the Greater Des Moines region as a place to live, work, and play. Under his role as Director of Workforce Development, he also serves at the Program Director of the Youth Leadership Institute (YLI). YLI is a program designed for 15-17 year-olds that will introduce, develop, and nurture leadership skills among youth in Greater Des Moines by providing experiential mentoring and leadership experiences that enhance self-esteem and encourage involvement in all levels of community life. This year Ritz has 34 students from 13 area high schools participating in the year-long program. 

Ritz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and an Associates of Arts degree in Organizational Development and Leadership from William Penn University; both degrees were earned Summa Cum Laude. He is also a 2012 Graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.
