The Dashi Project is a cultural fusion duo comprised of University of Iowa students Dani Lipman and Ashley Chong. Dani is a rising fourth-year physics and astronomy student from West Des Moines, while Ashley is a recent graduate with a degree in international studies. As members of different cultures, they work together to combine and create music in multiple languages such as Korean, Chinese, Hindi, and Hebrew. They have had the opportunity to perform at many cultural events in Iowa City, including events put on by the South Asian Student Alliance, Indian Student Alliance, and the Korean UIowa Student Association. They are currently expanding their original repertoire and are preparing for an EP release this summer. They hope to make an exciting first time performance in Des Moines at CelebrAsian this year!
