IAA is a nonprofit organization established in 2002 by business, community, and civic leaders. The mission of IAA is to unite Iowa’s diverse Asian and Asian-American communities for the purpose of fostering economic growth and community development within the state of Iowa. IAA’s vision is to create an Iowa in which Asians and Asian-Americans are an integral part of a vibrant and prosperous community.

How is IAA different from the existing Asian American organizations? (Show Answer)
IAA unites Iowa’s diverse Asian and Asian-American communities for the purpose of fostering economic growth and community development. Unlike other Asian or Asian-American groups, IAA is a pan-Asian organization, serving fourteen different ethnic/national communities. IAA serves these communities by partnering with other organizations to deliver focused and effective programs and services in the areas of business, workforce, and community development.
What is CelebrAsian? (Show Answer)
CelebrAsian is the Annual Asian Heritage Festival, which is the signature event of IAA. CelebrAsian is held every May at the State Capitol Complex in Des Moines. Approximately 35,000-45,000 people attend CelebrAsian every year.
How is IAA funded? (Show Answer)
IAA is a grassroots organization sustained by membership dues and donations from its generous sponsors. IAA events are supported through sponsorships and grants.
