ABOUT
Iowa Asian Alliance (IAA) is a nonprofit organization established in 2002 by Asian American business, community, and civic leaders for the purpose of forging cultural understanding and economic growth within the State of Iowa. The mission of IAA is to grow Iowa through a united Asian American community. The vision of IAA is that Asian Americans in Iowa are an integral part of a vibrant and prosperous community of diverse people.
IAA collaborates with the public and private sector to promote: • Business & economic growth • Community & cultural vitality • Leadership & educational advancement • Political & civic participation
IAA promotes the economic development and cultural heritage of Asian Americans through: • Leadership training • Celebrating the educational initiatives and achievements of Asian Americans in Iowa • Addressing issues related to Asian American communities within Iowa • Uniting, coordinating and celebrating the different Asian American communities within Iowa • Helping Asian American community-based organizations develop and implement programs • Facilitating relationship building among and between the Asian American community and others
IAA represents and serves the following Asian ethnic groups: Burma, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Lao, Nepal, Philippines, Taiwan, Taidam, Thailand, and Vietnam. We also have representatives from the Latino, African American and mainstream community.
